Yom Yerushalayim

Today is Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day), a day celebrating the reunification of Jerusalem in 1967. The day is marked in Israel with ceremonies and memorials.

Here's some of the original transmissions from that day. I find them to be incredibly moving.
(There are subtitles.)

May Jerusalem ever stand as a symbol of the peace and hope and freedom.

Check out this cool post from DovBear with archival news articles.
Pretty regular posts on this blog keep me right in the thick of the Real Jerusalem Streets.
