I want to be like Dad...BSM

Obviously, our children want to be like us. They want to do what we do and have what we have. I know that my children (all of them!) think my Blackberry is the coolest toy in the house. There is great power here. Even without realizing it, I have taught them something about what I value. Do I teach them that the Blackberry takes Mommy away from them, or do I teach them that it helps us connect to the people that we love? I hope for the latter, and I think I'm doing alright when my 2-year-old just want to call his grandparents whenever he takes my phone. But it is an awesome responsibility knowing that these little people emulate my every move.

My husband loves to play video games. Therefore, my children want to play with the controllers. These controllers, they know, are important in some way. They don't know exactly what they do, but they want them!

Here is Yael, enjoying the controller that her dad has let her play with, while in th background, he plays his game.

Just for good measure...I did a little editing of another one of these shots. What do you think?

I think my husband would have freaked out by the controller chewing! Ha! So cute. I love how you made the last one dark.

They really do. And even when you don't think they are paying attention, they are studying. I have a very hard unusual last name (Abrahamian.) I couldn't figure out how my daughter, at the time just 3, learned out to spell it. Just said it one day. Then I quickly realized that she was saying it exactly how I say, cuz I have to spell it all the time.

Oh yes, the gaming controller! I love the new wireless ones--both kiddos happily click alongside Daddy--though he's been strongly cautioned only to play E games "with" them! Both my kiddos were instantly drawn to the tv remotes as well. Hmmm....
Great edit of the photo! I don't think I have a program that will let me darken the background like that--will try though--so cool!

This is how it started with our kids and "TV games." PC was playing and Beernut wanted to do the same...and now little sister Poppyseed "plays" along with him. Baby Peach watches from his exersaucer. Oh no! What would the American Academy of Pediatrics have to say about this??

Ah yes. Adam loves to play his daddy's games. It's super cute.
The last shot is great! The blacking out of the background really made her pop out of the photo!

It is such an awesome responsibility, isn't it? My 2-year old said something tonight that Mommy said yesterday...a slip. Aye....they only need to hear/see it once!

Great photo - I like it with all the background dropped out!

I like the editing in the last one and how you made the background dark. She's a cutie! The chewing on the controller is pretty funny. :)

I love your words about them wanting everything we have! My daughter is obsessed with both the phone and the video game controllers. We got a Wii for Christmas, and she "bowls" with the tv remote while we use the actual controller. :o)
Great editting, too!
