Seder night...

matzah crumbs
horseradish stains
wine drops
parsley blooms
salty tears

same old jokes
same old stories
like a well-worn sweater
not ready for Goodwill yet.

add a little flower and it's like new again.

on Seder night, we come home again each year...

Ooh, I like that a lot. You're right; the more seders we sit down to, the more the past joins us.

I can't wait for Pesach...certainly one of favorite holidays!

PS I apologize for my absentee blog visitation...the beautiful wife just got back into town tonight...and it was very busy in the nest!

That is why I love Passover. It is a holiday that is as fresh as a baby and yet as old as the love of freedom. It is the act of introducing our children to the whole concept of treating people with dignity and allowing them to have choice over thier lives and allow others to have freedom of choice in everything they do.
The kugel is good too.

Beautifully captured. It reminded me of the Orthodox friend and how much I miss her.

So sweet, and it really is the same story across all cultures...home is where there are familiar faces and familiar food and love and laughter all around.

A well-worn sweater, not ready for Goodwill yet -- makes me want to reach for one of those cozy favorites tonight! A wonderful turn of phrase.
