Watching...

Sam and David were absolutely fascinated by the man who installed our patio door on Sunday morning. They just wanted to sit and watch everything that he did. My six-year-old had a lot of questions.

Yael, however, couldn't figure out what all the fuss was about. She kept trying to engage them in something else, but they wanted to stay by the door.

Either way, the new door was the highlight of our weekend. It was properly restful, a nice Shabbat followed by the Rabbi's secret summer treat: no Sunday School.

Ahhh....summer.

See what other exciting things caught people's eyes this weekend.

Your kids are cute. :)

At my parents' house, Shabbat was all about staying home, reading books and newspapers, and eating fabulous homemade meals. Maybe a lazy stroll on Saturday morning.

Sometimes I miss that.

I love how you can see her glancing at them with that "come on already" look...and they are clearly not planning on moving!

A few months ago we had seom trees cut down - and Nadia watched that with the same rapt attention! I bet they know exactly how to install a door now and could do it themselves!

It's so interesting to see what kids find so interesting :)

That's cute. Anything that captures their attention for a short period for time and you don't have to is great!

I especially like the why don't you play with me look at the other two. ;)

Ever so fascinating to find out how things work. My 6-year old watched for several hours when we had a window replaced. (But then, mom was pretty interested, too.)

Just popped by from Karen's new blogroll gizmo. Nice to read you.

Too funny. My girls are mildly interested in such stuff, and my nephew is glued to things like that. Funny how that is.

Cute! Did you tip him for the free babysitting? I love that kids can find wonder in the things most adults just glance over.

we've been having some work done on our street lately and the kids are just enthralled.

Have to give you that one...summer IS such a treat especially when I was teaching. No teaching anymore (I quit) but the stillness of the perfect Sunday morning still reminds me of it.

Isn't it too funny how kids will sit forever and watch workers work? My boys have always done that. Go figure. I love these so-real-boy moments you've captured.
